After dying while trying to keep up with D. Diesel, I wanted some XP and gave the Volcano Circuit a go for some ride XP and bonus route XP. After earning the badge, I changed by simulated body weight to see the effect that weight has on distance & speed in Zwift.
The reduced weight definitely increases speed on the flats and makes going up hill so much easier. I really should only reduce when I’m trying to keep up with D. Diesel or for group rides I would like to do with slightly higher wattages until I’ve got some more training under my belt.
Alternatively, maybe we need to see some more public low wattage rides happening on the Zwift Events Calendar.
